Eastern Rosella mutations
One of the most beautiful and colourful birds around the Rosella is quickly becoming one of the most popular
avery birds in Australia.
The Eastern Rosella is approx 12inches(30centimeters) in size and is Native to Australia. This bird has
just recently been introduced to the North Island of New Zealand.
Keeping a Rosella as a pet!!!
If you would like one of these as a pet it is best to get a hand reared bird that has been handled alot
as they can quickly become flightly and can also become aggresive!
But they are worth the effort as they make beautiful pets that are not noisy.
If you are planning on getting one of these for a pet please let me know well in advance so I can start
the hand rearing process early for you so you have the best chance of recieving a tame, people friendly addition to your family!
Breeding!!!
These Birds do breed in captivity but you must avoid housing them near other birds and or another good
idea is to pair them only when you plan to breed them as they can become aggressive towards one another!!
Diet!!!
I feed my birds a mixture of seed, fresh fruit and vegetables as well as just sprouted seeds!!! they
are fed and checked on a daily basis. Be Aware do not feed your bird avacado as it is extremely toxic.
